Does anyone know the part # or where I can get an oil sender for a 93 tsi? I bought one yesterday, but when you start the car it reads max pressure and the falls back to none. W/ the key on and engine off it reads max press. I called back advance auto and they said it was for a dummy light car. Even the Mits dealer said they didn't know if the one they had was for a gauge or light.

It sounds like you've got the pressure gauge wire hooked up to the dummy light sensor. Obviously at key on/engine off, there's no oil pressure so the light is turned on (max pressure). When you start the engine, there's a delay between no pressure and full pressure, hence the max reading falling back to zero.

What does the sensor you bought look like? CAPS lists the pressure gauge sensor as MD133273 and the dummy light sensor as MD138993. The pressure gauge sensor looks a little bit like a balloon. :D

The unit I am refering to is on the oil filter housing. I thought you either had a dummy light or a guage. It has both? Where is the unit for each?

Yea, if you have a turbo 6-bolt it's got both of them. The dummy light sensor should be in front of the oil filter housing facing the radiator and the pressure gauge sensor is on the opposite side; normally facing down or at an angle depending on which oil filter housing you have.

Great pic!! I have replaced the right sensor, just w/ the wrong sensor. Does anyone know the part # for the guage sender?

So as I get down to the last bit on my engine build I ws becoming a little dishartened with all the little things I had to replace/buy. A biggy was the oil pressure gauge sender that can be found on the oil filter housing. The last owner bent the threaded end but decided it was alrigt t epoxy it back into place. So I hit my part stores website. They wanted $65 for the blasted thing! Undetered I tried google and came up with this website. Rock Auto I found the part for $30 but $40 with shipping.

So instead you can get it here for $25 cheaper. Hope it helps!

The part Im talking about has the orange arrow pointing to it (in case you didnt read the label)

Dont mean to HijacK, But the Ballon type sender, the "pressure gauge sender" I need the plug that attaches to the end of it. Do I need a complete new sender or can I get the plug that attaches to the end of the sender at a junk yard of something ?

...and I've got this oddball oil pump/filter arrangement where all I have is the pressure sending unit on and no idiot light sender on my ride...and would like to attach the idiot light sender in all of this ... on my PlyRS turbo...
