oil return tube

I am on my 2nd, now need a 3rd, oil return tube. Was wondering if anyone has made a succesful mod to theirs to avoid leaks & cracks?

Yeah, I don't get the idea of that piece of crap. Hit up an industrial supply shop, or a diesel truck or Caterpillar shop, and get a piece of silicone hose. I'll bet they even have elbows. Or if not silicone, at least some oilproof line. Tell the counter guy what it's for, he'll have a solution.

Thanks for the replies, today I cut out the flexible section of the tube, filed the edges down smooth and ground down the weld bead to create hose nipples on each piece, then got a piece of high temp hose and clamped it to the two pipe ends, works great, no leaks & still flexible. Only problem is I need to replace the high temp hose with a silicone high temp like you mentioned, because the piece I am using temporarily is just high temp water hose.

All together it cost $2.57. Though I don't know how much the high temp silicone hose will be.

I'll bet that water hose wouldn't last much longer than a decade. I don't know that you need to worry about the silicone.
