Where do you guys get your oil return line gaskets from the turbo to the oil pan? I checked at NAPA the other day and they had no idea what I was talking about. I've got a pretty good leak I need to fix...

Thanks.

it's this one: http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/turboparts_files/oil-drain-gasket-T25.jpg

i was hoping to find one locally so that i could fix the leak tonight...
To get the actual gasket, you might try hitting up the local dealership if you have one, but otherwise I think you are out of luck with getting a replacement so soon.

You might just try RTVing the hell out of it. I replaced that and still had a leak because the bolts to the oil pan didn't take properly. I attempted to tighten them up the next day and when I took it off, the gasket I had tore in half. I just got all of the old RTV and gasket off, then used a coating of RTV, put the line back on, and then put a little more RTV around the edges - worked better than the first time. I do recognize it is sort of a hack though to use only RTV. It's a low pressure return though.

word, the same problem happened with me, i had a new gasket on there but i switched from my t25 to a 14b and the gasket ripped.

i tried RTVing it back on but apparently i was a bit too modest cause there's oil all over my floor right where that oil return line is. it's also leaking from the oil filter side too.

i hate oil. :notgood:

Buy some gasket paper and make your own. When you install it, coat both sides of the gasket liberally with red RTV and tighten it just beyond finger tight. Wipe the excess off the tube bolt flange, let it dry and then tighten it the rest of the way and you should be good to go. I just put my "new" JDM engine in my Talon and I basically did the same thing and it doesn't piss a drop of oil. Same with the oil pan. The trick with RTV is to not over tighten it until it dries.

I used to work at Napa and you can get it by ordering a turbo mounting gasket set. You will get all the turbo, o2 housing and all of your oil drain line gaskets. Might not be a bad investment if you are looking into taking it off anytime soon. If they still have no idea I can get you the part number if need be. I would recommend not using RTV. That is a good way to ruin a motor. Either the RTV can get in your line and clog you return line and build up excess pressure or it will leak into the oilpan and get stuck in the pick-up tube. Never use RTV on any part of an oiling or cooling system. Only time I use it is on the oilpan itself under the oilpan gasket when I take the pan off I get a gasket and LIGHTLY put a bead down to hold it in place.

Sorry to bring up a really old thread, but i am having a similar problem as well. I have a brand new oil return line and oem oil return line gasket and it still leaks down there but just very little drops.
I was wondering if i use RTV and let it dry for a good time and then tighten it, will it be ok ? And what RTV should i use, the red one ?
