OIL PUMP replacement

Hi,

I have a 95 eclipse GST, i had an oil seal give out about 3 months ago, i finally got my head re-built, a new oil pump, and everything ready to be put in the car, only thing is, i have no idea how to put the oil pump back in, my local auto parts place does not carry the repair book for this car, and was wondering if anyone could explain to me how? or maybe show me a website where you can figure out how to do it?

Look on the VFAQ.com under the balance shaft removal link. Its pretty much the same thing minus a couple steps...Fist start by taking your timing belt cover off, then actual belt, then crank dampaner pully, then either a/c bracket or power steering pump(I cant remember). After all this you should be able to get to the 12mm bolts holding on the front case, after you take off the bolts wedge a screwdriver in between the block and case and pry....If you go VFAQ it will be much easier to understand since they have pics, and just a reminder to put timing marks with white-out for when you put the t-belt back on.

I hate that website im never able to find anything, i have a book for a 97 eclipse gs, would that work the same for my 95 GST?, or no?

No. Entirely Different engine. The procedure referenced in VFAQ by the poster above is probably as close as you'll get unless you buy a manual. The VFAQ procedure even shows you the bolt sizes and where they go. Truth is though, if you can't find what you need in VFAQ and follow VFAQ, you probably shouldn't be replacing the oil pump yourself. Take it to a mechanic or someone that knows what they're doing.
