my six bolt engine is the jdm version that came with a 1990 style oil cooler. the oil to air not oil to water. i need to replace my oil pump. can i put any 1st gen pump on and still use the filter housing that uses the good oil to air style cooler?

Yes. All 6 bolt oil pump (front cases) are the same. The oil filter housings are the same where it bolts up to the front case. The only difference is the one YOU have doesn't have the cooler plate between the housing and the oil filter.

So long story short. YES.

yea it a two piece set up... the front cover is the same from 1990 1992.5 the part that is differant is the second plate that gos to the cooler it self. some were water. some were air.
