I have a forward facing oil filter housing with only one port on it, which goes to my turbo, i need to put a stock oil pressure guage sender unit in the car, i tried to "t" off the fitting, but it reads really low, im guessing its because oil is passing by the sendor and taking the path of least resistance through the turbo? Any ideas how to make this happen with out removing the ofh and tapping it? Does anyone have a part number for a sandwich adaptor for this type of ofh, the filter it self is much smaller then a factory dsm, thanks guys!

I recently put a t fitting on my oil feed line from my ofh, the oil leaves the ofh and the sendor unit is on the right, then the oil goes down to the feed line, but it reads little to nothing, is the becouse the oil is just passing through the fitting and not actually putting full pressure on the sendor, the car drives fine and has correct amount of oil? Im just wondering if this looks like it would read low heres a diagram

Well whatever its reading, it would be accurate. Pacal's law states pressure is equal in all directions, so the same pressure that the gauge is reading (assuming the gauge itself is accurate) is the same pressure going to the turbo.

What weight of oil are you running? Stock block? How many miles?

Stock block balanced shafts removed acl race bearings, 272 cams 3g lifters, i figured oil was passing by the sendor,i using 10w30 non synth, but the factory preasure sensor isold and rusty and i did drop it on the garagefloor the other day my factory guage reads a little bit of lressure on start and under boost but mostly:tease: nothing

What were your clearances on the bearings upon installation? Did you port the oil relief valve? How many miles since the rebuild?

Yes i used thread tape, and the car has 100 miles since the rebuild, i think the sendor is bad or something

You can check if it's because of the tape insulating the ground connection by measuring the resistance between the body of the sensor and the negative battery terminal or by providing a good ground to the sensor and seeing if the gauge reads higher.

Well you could run it in line with the oil feed versus t-ing it off. At least you could rule out the t being the issue.
