Oil Pressure Gauge Wiring Question

When i bought my 2nd Dsm .. (97 Gst) The Oil Pressure Gauge Broke..
(Yes. My oil pressure is fine)

Well i been under my car all day and been fixing the stupid little things i shoulda fixed a while ago..

Well i found some wires just hanging down here.. And wondering if this could be the culprit..? The Guy who sold me the car said it was my Oil pressure sender unit? or something that isnt working..

Yellow wire blue clip oil pressure sender other one is the idiot light wire, oil level.

yeah the wire in the first picture goes right on that sender, unscrew the nut and put it back on.

The other one your holding is the idiot light.

On a side note, Your Harmonic Balancer looks like it has been through hell and back..Just saying..You should check the rubber that holds it together and see if its still intact.

The harmonic balancer is fine. The picture just makes it look like crap for some reason haha thanks for looking out.. 20k miles on this motor..


So the first wire is the one for the oil pressure?

The blue wire should be for your oil pressure sending unit (the bell looking thing) and the yellow should be for you oil indicator light on your dash ( dummy light)

No you have that mixed up, the wire he is holding in the second picture (looks to be yellow) goes to the Rusty looking pressure sending unit right next to his hand in the same picture. That goes to a Oil Pressure Gauge

Picture three is the wire with what looks like a blue clip, that clips into the oil pressure switch and that is for the idiot light on the dash.
