I've been reading and reading about mechanical vs electrical oil pressure gauges for the past two hours now. I think I have decided to go with the electrical gauge with the remote mounted sending unit but my question is... I cannot find an Autometer electrical gauge that goes over 100psi. I've read that our DSM's go over 100psi. I really like the Ultra Lite and Ultra Lite II series gauges. So am I out of luck or will the 100psi gauge be fine?

Thanks

Maybe I'll write up a vfaq on the install and remote mount if I can get this answered.

Hmm. If you are suggesting that 100psi is not high enough (and I understand that) then I'd rather just get a new oem sending unit for 40 bucks and get my stocker working again. I have a friend that can get me Autometer gauges very cheap so that's why I wanted to stay with that line. I might change my mind and go with the mechanical though. Decisions, decisions... My father's hotrod 48 chevy show truck uses a mechanical oil pressure gauge so I shouldn't be too worried about oil in my interior as his is worth about 15 times what my DSM is worth. LOL
