I was driving to PA on Friday and towards the end of my 600mile journey I noticed that my oil pressure would drop considerably under boost.

I checked my oil and it was over a quart low. Great. It's leaking again. :(

Ok, so I add oil to it. The car sits over the weekend and I drive back today. On the drive back it takes literally 20min for the oil pressure gauge to read normal. And under boost the pressure would drop to almost nothing and slowly crawl back to reading normal. So I stayed off the turbo for the rest of the trip.

I pull over and my oil level is still full.

As I am 15miles from home my oil pressure guage reads in the red as I'm going 75mph. The car is running fine and I see no oil pouring on the road. I hated to do it, but I had to keep going.

Well the bottom of my car is now soaked in oil. However my dipstick only shows that I am 1/4 quart low.

So if my oil is basically full, why would my gauge read almost 0 pressure?? Any ideas on what could be leaking that would cause the pressure to drop like this under boost? The oil pan gasket is new and the turbo return tube is also new. It is not leaking from the "front" of the engine. The timing belt is nice and dry as well as the oil filter housing. However the front of my tranny is soaked as well as the underside of the car in that area all the way back to my exhaust. It's dark so I have not looked at it extensively yet. I am tomorrow, but if I could get some suggestions to help me that would be awsome.

Any insight would be great. :)

Go to NAPA, get some oil system dye then go to home depot and get a black light. Put the dye in, put the car on jack stands, crank it up and rev it a little and then climb under the car with the blacklight and see where the leak is. The dye will turn the oil green so you might be able to see it without the light but if not, the leak will be flourescent yellow with the light. Dye=$4 blacklight=$5-20

Everything seemed ok. But I did notice some oil leaking from the edge of the oil pan. I change the gasket.

Now the oil pressure gauge reads just like it should when I start the car, but after driving it about a mile is rests on the first line after the red and stays there. My car isn't leaking oil anymore and it drives very smooth and the engine is nice and quiet. I'm guessing the sending unit may be bad???

Any more insight?
