I am looking at a 91 tsi that the owner says runs fine but needs the oil line fro the turbo to the head. I am thinking it might be stripped since I have read a few posts where people have done that. I figure I'd just get a helacoil for it if need be. Either way, if he doesn't have the oil line, can I just get something at Napa or is this a dealer part? Thanks!

I tried to find the Banjo bolt for that same line and no one had it, so im guessing its gonna be the same for the line. I had to order the bolt from the dealership.. you can try a junkyard and yea if its stripped just helicoil it..

I'm not a 1g expert, but many folks run oil lines to aftermarket turbos off the oil filter housing, which has a few extra ports on it already that are capped off and not used. I don't know about the fitting size or what oil line material to use, but I'm positive that you can do this. If you do, you have to block the old oil supply somehow, and if you have to helicoil it to plug it, you might as well just use it for the turbo oil feed. However, on the 2gs, the oil feed from the head in the stock setup is at the very end of the oil system, so you get the worst oil pressure. If you connect to the oil filter housing, you can get better oil pressure. Also, if you get braided lines, you just need to get the right length and fittings, but if you get hard lines like are on the 2g (don't know about 1g), then you have to do all of the bending and such to get it from the head to the turbo. All I see folks doing is using braided lines. Don't know how much of this helps. Search the forums for examples of what folks have done for aftermarket turbos, and you'll probably get your answer.

I stripped mine out on the head and went to lowes to get a fitting
to block it out, worked great. Now with a new head i just run
my oil line off the oil filter housing.
