ok so i was driving home from school today and i notice that the oil light on the dash blinks on and off a few times. It never came back on so i didn't think anything of it. So i go home. 3 hours later, i decide to go to the store. I move my car, and there is a puddle of oil from where my car was sitting. Checked the dipstick, practically no oil on it at all. Where could i be leaking from? It keeps dripping oil little by little and i'm more then sure there will be a puddle of it in the morning. I'm gonna get this checked out tomorrow, but i thought i'd ask you all for some insight anyway. thanks

oil can leak from an assload of places man. Get under there, clean it all up, run it for a few minutes, and look under it again. A pic wouldn't hurt.

First place I'd check is the oil return line. I'm leaking there, slowly, but still leaking. It's because I did a crappy job grinding the bolt holes for my 16g. Also, check oil filter housing and any associated lines.

hes correct it could be the turbo, trans, motor, anything, who knows, check it out. :dsm:

alright, thanks for the help. I'll get under there and check whats up.

i found the place where its leaking from, its from something the mechanic called the oil cooler under the car. i got it fixed, but has anyone heard of leaks from that?

If I caught the post before you fixed it, I would of mentioned either the oil housing, or the oil cooler. When I did a tranny job, I blew my gasket on the oil housing twice, I wish it was a small leak....It just POURED!!!!!! The first time was, LOL....it was funny in a way, I looked behind me and about 5 cars behind me got oil ALLL over their cars...well the second time wasnt fun. I was about 30 mintues away about to go to my first day at my new job and my gasket blew again. Then I got it fixed for the second time and I leaked through the oil cooler. Solution....PCV valve.....

goddamn garages only care about the most expensive job, they were telling me to reaplce my housing and my oil cooler...I looked at them and laughed.
