I have a 91 gsx 150k on the engine i just replaced my crank pulley and then my alternator went bad replaced that and there was a little oil leak under the alternator and then after that a ton of oil leaked in my engine dont know where it came from but it was smoking all over.. The leak appears to be coming from the drive side near or above oil filter. Then that alternator went bad not even 25 miles later (think from oil getting on it) so replaced it with another new alternator drove about 2 miles got lots of smoke tons of oil all over engine on driver side even some ontop of the engine. and now that alternator is bad had oil all over it.. i have read alot of threads about oil leaks and am lost... when the car is at idle there is smoke coming out under the manifold near exhaust also and when driven lots of oil. cleaned all oil up drove but it leaked to much to pin point exact spot that it was leaking.. ?

Did You check to see if the oil is dripping down from the pin hole int he front of the valve cover. Mine was doing this and it was because the valve cover bolts under the plug wire cover were loose.

and the oil is leaking on the drivers side on the timing belt side buy the oil filter or somewhere in there but it is a huge oil leak but i dont know how it would get ontop of my engine where the spark plugs are pulled the plug wires and there is no oil in there

If enopugh oil gets into the alternator it can short it out. Have you checked the feed and return oil lines for you turbo?

yea my buddy just had to replace his alt. because his valve cover was leaking oil. So yes enough oil will cause your alt. to go bad. clean up the area and try to see where the oil is comming from

i have cleaned oil up twice and drove the car and there is so much oil i can not tell where it is coming from... o well will take apart again when have time and see whats up

Goto the auto parts store and pick up a dye test. Go and drive your car for just a couple seconds (down the driveway and back) after you've cleaned the oil out again. Make sure your oil filter isn't double gasketed and spraying oil upwards. Then remove the lower timing belt cover and use the special light that comes with the dye test to pin point the leak. Post back your results and we'll help ya out from there.
