Well my carhad a oil leak were the valve cove around the spark plug well would fill up with oil..So I thought it was a oil cap..Replaced oil cap drove the car and then..OIL was everywhere on the oil cap,the side of the valve cover,,the heat shield..all over the spark plug wires,,So I thought it was a bad valve cover gasket because I had put a used on on already..So I bought a new valve cover --spark plug well gaskets..put it on and everything looked good drove the car around did fine..Then I got in a race and well oil all over everything agian..I took the oil cap off the car and I could feel alot of air blowing out of the oil cap opening..im lost

Could be that your valve cover is cracked. Did you check it thoroughly before replacing the valve cover?

Well thee is a itsy bitsy crack above the pcv vavle but There isnt any oil near that..other that the valve cover seems ok

Hm...weird. Maybe your breather hose or the pcv hose has a blockage or a kink in it or something. I dunno man. That's weird. I can't think of much else. Dipstick is ok too? You have your timing cover on, right?

I have this same problem... Craploads of oil comes out somewhere near the sparkplug wells. If the valve cover didnt have a drain hole for oil that leaks into there it would be completely full of oil. It drains out of the drain hole right onto my turbo manifold for some nice smoke. Ive replaced all the gaskets and the valve cover itself. I bought the cover used so it may be cracked. Im going to buy a brand new one as soon as I can but for some reason I dont think its gong to stop this massive leak. Why in the hell do so many dsms leak from the damn cover anyways? Why is there so much pressure in there forcing oil everywhere? I just got a brand new shortblock from mitsu last week so it shouldnt be a problem with blow by..

you need new pistons or rings. maybe both. That is a lot of blow by.Mine did the same thing. I took the pistons out and one had a crack in the side.

Just installed new Pistons/rings. Had the same problem with oil accumulation in the Spark Plug area. Removed the Valve cover and gobbed on High temp silicon sealer in all areas that might seep into the spark plug area. Leak got worse. Could it be leaking past the bolt threads?

I love the smell of burning oil on the manifold at the McDonald's drive thru.

Did you put a new valver cover gasket in when you replaced your rings/pistons? Any time you take your valve cover off, it is a good idea to change the gasket. I also would'nt recommend putting gobs of silicone on there. If it is leaking that bad you need to find the problem asap.

I found where mine was coming from. The valve cover was actually cracked. When I looked it over I couldnt find any cracks. But when the spark plug valley was completely full of oil I reved it up and saw bubbles coming from where the crack was. So I JB welded that bi*** and will buy a nice polished cover or something when I have the cash.

The Silicon idea was a trial and error thing. Turned out to be a bad idea.
I blocked off the drain hole and started the engine. Wow. The crack magically appeared. Is J/B Weld a good idea for this type of problem?

I let my daughter drive the Talon TSI AWD that I spent the last 3 months rebuilding. The modded Honda in front of her must have been invisible. The Honda was doing 30 and my kid must have kicked in the afterburners and blew the Honda's rear bumper into its back seat. Only apparent damage to the Talon was the cracked emblem on the bumber and a couple of little scratches. The Honda is toast.....
