I just popped off my front mount for some maitenence and I noticed this. It isn't a lot, but I wasn't expecting it. A quick google search told me a little bit is normal.

This is a pic of the drivers side (right off the j-pipe). The passenger side is spotless, so clearly there isn't a ton. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned, it has been about a year since I put the front mount intercooler on.

Also, I don't know if it's from the old turbo (14b, it did have some shaft play) or the new one (20g), or a combination of both. I'm currently on the 20g (and have been the past 6 months) and it was freshly rebuilt, so I'm guessing it's all old oil from the 14b.

It is more likely oil from the crankcase vent that goes from the side of the valve cover to the intake. A sealed catch can that is baffled will take care of that along with a Kiggly HLA pressure regulator. The HLA reduces oil flow to head.
