We put new coolant into my radiator and we checked the cap and as soon as we filled it to the top with coolant it all turned black. The overflow bottle is also black. What problem is causing oil to get into my coolant system? How can I fix this problem? Thankx

Or if you are a real lucky winner, a pinhole leak between the oil and collant galleries in the block.

Is your car over heating? If it is then it is def. a head gasket. Sometimes they will over heat, and sometimes they wont with a blown head gasket, but its prob your head gasket.

In reguards to oil in the coolant if head gasket is bad wont you have bad numbers when you run a compression test?

Before everyone jumps to a conclusion you could just need a full flush. If you have never changed the coolant before then you dont know what the person before you has done. The coolant could just be old and dirty or someone put "stop leak" in the system. When you put new coolant into the radiator its gunna mix with the dirty and look just as bad as the rest. Do a FULL flush. Run water through the heater core both ways and through the block
