oil filter relocation kit

hello,

I'm thinking about getting a oil filter relocation kit for my colt/4g63t swap due to clearance issue, my downpipe is only 2.25" and as I'm running 1.7bar on hx35 I assume I should go for a bigger downpipe along with bigger piping (currently its 2.5").

Can anyone advice on Oil filter relocation kits and from I can get them? Price etc?

I also want to know if I can build one? I'm sure some here must've done this by himself... This will save some money which I can put in piping

You could try a forward facing OFH.

Fabbing one up would be very difficult and for the money, not worth it.

agreed on the trying a forward facing and the ones from extreme psi are nice. and yea from the money youd have to spend fabing one its not worth it

What's the point of using an oil filter relocation kit? You still have to remove the drain plug to release the oil anyway right? So you really have to get under the car anyway. I admit that I have thought about it. Has anyone ever had any issues with it? Can you use a sandwich plate with it (which I doubt?)

The point of the relocation kit isnt about draining your oil, its about having clearance for your downpipe. With a forward facing oil filter housing, you should be able to fit in a 3'' downpipe no problem.

What effect would it have on a 2GNT like mine that doesn't have a 3" sized downpipe?

I don't even know if they make one for the 420a; we're talking about the OFH made for the 4G63.

well myndvast since you don't have any clearance issues then i don't guess you'll be needing a filter relocation kit. Back to the post at hand i would agree that you need 3 inch and as long as its a good kit and its installed properly it should be perfect. depending on how far you move it the lines can also act as sort of an oil cooler which is a perk

If it's a 7 bolt swap you could try out an Evo 9 OFH
