Need to remove the oil filter mount to do an oil change to do after market exhaust, and I am having problems. It looks like I have removed all the bolts holding it in, but it still won't come lose. I removed the three that connect it to the oil pan, and the other 3 that go through the tire side. What am I missing? Thanks

Yes - the previous owner put an extension to where the oil filter connects to the mount to install an oil pressure guage, but the extension put the oil filter right up on the exhaust leaving it zero room to back out. So, to do an oil change, I need to take off the mount. Lower timing cover you say?

I have a 90, but there are only 4 bolts that hold the actual oil filter housing onto the car. Try tapping it with a rubber mallet or something.

Im going to have to try that. I'd swear that I have all the bolts out.
