I was installing my oil lines today, and I bought a oil sending unit sensor socket from advance autoparts, but I could not get the socket to fit. THe size was fine ,but it was too shallow do I need a deep well oil sending sensor socket. I tried a deep welled 1 1/16 socket but I could not get a tight enough grip. Thanks for ya'll help.

let me get this right there are two big sensors on the back of the block I want the one on the drivers side of the block with the red locks. I went back to advance to look at a replacement sensor, and it looked too small for a 3/8 hole. It look more like 1/4. how did you position your wrench what size ,was it the 26 mm cut in half like on 2gnt. I have tried a 1 1/8 could not find a 1 1/16 around the house. thanks for the help.

your just trying to put a oil feed on the oil pressure switch line? My star kit came with a adapter... looks custom made. I believe (not for sure) its 3/8 pipe thread on the sensor. I don't even have the oil pressure switch anymore. I checked a dealer manual and the wire just goes to the dash light. I have an oil pressure gauge, so I know whats going on.

just take the sensor off, go to the hardware store and get a T fitting. Put the sensor on one side, and the oil sending line on the other.

As far as the wrench goes... I don't understand what the problem is.

Thanks for the help I was able to get it off today with a 1 1/16 deep well, i waqs originally using a 12 point, but a guy said that a 6 point would work and it did. I finish the oil feed line, and started on my oil return line we dropped my oil pan and clean it, all I have to do now is get someone to weld it so I can put it back on before that stupid tropical storm hits GA on sunday  so I don't get any moisture in the motor.
thanks for ya'll help again
