ok so im trying to put my 2g back together and i need a new oil drain line

my old one i made from a 1g i hack sawed the scrunchy part out of it and put a thick tube on there from the ("socketless extreme psi oil drain line", which btw dont waste your money on hense me having to make my oil using parts from it)

anyways i was looking at the forced performance oil drain line and basically what i get from the picture is that its already put together for you upon purchase and i was wondering if anybody has it or has heard anything about it i was to get it but i dont want to waste $70 again.

theres no drop down box where i can choose its for a 2g and a 16g so i need a little help

thanks

Do you still have your factory 1g or 2g drain line? If so, leave yourself a few inches on the end of both flanges and just get some regular rubber hose & 2 clamps from your local auto parts store to connect the two. I did a budget 16g install on a buddy's car that had a crack in the flex section of the drain tube. I hacked off the flex section, replaced it with heater hose line and 2 worm clamps and was good to go for under $10. The 2g will work also, just need the bolt holes opened up a bit where it meets the turbo.

ok cool thanks yeah i did the same thing with a 1g oil drain line cut out the flex and used the hose but it was just falling apart i guess i didnt really think about buying different hose to work with the only thing is i had really really hard ass thick rubber hose put on there and its now starting to crack and break i dont really want to have to fix it every month ya know

My return line has a tiny crack in the flex portion too. I'm going to give this a try this weekend if I have time. I've read that people had good luck using the blue "high temp" heater hose from Napa. This was in some old threads though so I'm not sure if the same hose is still available. I think it was blue, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, still blue. Thats the heater hose line I was referring to. Don't recall the exact size, but if you bring in one of the ends they will size it for you. My buddy is still running his, going on year 3 now with no leaks.

Exactly what I needed to hear, thanks. I'm glad I ordered 4 extra oil drain gaskets last time I was at Norco Mitsu. :thumb:

alright cool thanks i have another good idea im going to do it tomorrow ill post some pics if you guys would like... im going to take it to work and cut the the whole line out (basically leaving the brackets by them selves) then weld some small tubing on there about 1 inch off the bracket then buy some of that hose and clamp the hell out of it... thanks for the inspiration LOL...

I will chip in. I am running regular black heater hose that i bought at autozone to replace the cut flex section from my 1g oil return line and it's been holding great so far.
I will upgrade my oil return line later down the road with a s.s. line though.
