2G oil cooler

Any tips installing an oil cooler without use of a sandwich plate? My downpipe blocks the clearance needed for the sandwich plus filter.

Use an Evo III or 8 or 9 oil filter housing, any of which would allow for an external, air-cooled oil cooler.

Will the 90 ofh work on 2g 7 bolt?

Negative. 6-bolt (1990) and 7-bolt (Evo III, 8 or 9) oil filter housings are not interchangeable.

O ok thank you for the correction. Im just trying to get something figured out for this next spring/summer i plan on doing a few sessions next year at Putnam Park with the car and want to make sure the oil doesn't get too hot. I've been working on it a ton lately and i finally get to go have some fun be it i can only putt around in it for a few months till i can get on the track. I appreciate you taking the time to try to help.

I have a Mishimoto small 10 row cooler and ss braided lines plummbed but they are capped for now until i get the housing issue figuered out.

I tried switching to this oil filter to make the extra clears its just way too close to the downpipe.

There is something i was curious about. Does running an oil cooler put extra strain on the oil pump at all?

Nah, it follows the path of least resistance so it goes out to the cooler just like it would flow to your head.
