I have an issue with my oil cooler. I have two oil filter brackets. One that has two tubes comes out of the side and one that came with the JDM motor that has the powersteering bolt with holes in them on the side. which one is the correct one?? it may be a stupid question but i had to ask it

You want the one with the banjo bolts that thread into the side of the housing.

The one with the two filter brackets, with the two tubes, is an oil cooler that is post 90 DSM. Before 91 dsms came with an oil filter housing that has two thread holes for and inlet and outlet of oil to an external oil cooler, ambient air cooler. The 91+ are all coolant cooled. Those two tubes run coolant to the oil filter housing and cool the oil that way (in some cases warm it up).

If you have a 6 bolt motor then you need a 90 style oil filter housing. They will have the provision you need or an external cooler. If you have a 7 bolt, you will need the evo3 style oil filter housing. It will have the provision for an external cooler also.

even though its for a 2g its a 1g motor.

Good luck

My 92 6-bolt came with the water-cooling oil cooler also. Either one works fine. Just like TALON_DOHC stated, use what came with the engine. If you have a safe way to block off the water inlet/outlet from the engine, then you can use the Air/oil cooler if you like.
