This may be a terrible question, but i was going to port my ofh relief valve, but apparently you have to buy the entire lower gasket set to get a new one?

So i was just shooting around some idea's, would it be possible to put a 1/8"- -4 fitting in the stock sending unit location (aftermarket oil pressure gauge) and run a line with a regulator in it to the oil pan to adjust the oil pressure? similar to a wastegate.

If it drops to low, it would take 3 minutes to put a plug back in it. has anybody done this? i've searched didn't find anything relevant. i'm getting around 115 psi higher rpms, and i think its blowing my seals out.

thanks in advance tuners!

I think you are a pioneer for this one, so your trying to basically create a bleeder valve that recirculates back into your oil pan to relive oil pressure? I think it could work but you know you can go to autozone and get a sheet of gasket paper and create your own gasket for under $10

That's not true..... HERE! The mitsubishi part number is MD149370 if you want to order it from your dealer or anywhere else.

What weight oil are you running right now?

There is somebody on here who has a setup similar to what you describe, but they use it to regulate the oil pressure going into the turbo.

Porting the pressure relief valve is free. Setting up a regulator will be pretty costly when you add up the lines, regulator, and oil pan bung.

I would try running an oil with lower viscosity first and see if that brings your oil pressure back down to reasonable levels. The last thing I would want happening when my motor is spinning at high RPMs is an oil bypass to send oil away from the rest of my motor, which may actually need that oil.

5w 30, and i have the lines and fittings (bulkhead) would just need a valve . i was just afraid of screwing it up by porting to much , or putting it all back together and realizing i did'nt port enough.

The oil pressure was actually hitting 130+ free rev.
