Not feeling the Honda one or the greyforrest one. I do like the evo one but I have a chance to get the vader hood at a good price now. I was just planning to do the rre but the vader option fell into my hands and it seems easier and cheaper. I want to get my car to run as cool as possible. Visually idk which one i like better i havent seen too many pic of either and im not sure how much it will cost to reclear my hood. Does any one have more pics of the rre or vader hood? And sebba you might but refering to "ricers" with your uncle bens comment but you need to watch your mouth because it is more used as a extremely racist term.

OEM, the Vader lines don't look right. It seems a little bit cheaper to just reclear the hood.

Well friday while driving to work my hood popped up and hit the windshield and got pretty messed up so i picked up the vader hood. I got a good price on it so hopefully it looks good. I still need to install the hood pins which i am worried about.

Dsmspick if you could post more pics that would be great!

Does anyone have helpful hood pin instal on cf tips, besides go slow and don't #### up? haha What is the best mounting point for the latches?

i honestly don't mind the vader hood.. it looks decent! and dont put the hood pins were your last ones were cause they clearly worked good! haha

wait your oem hood popped up and smashed your window?

Lower T-stat, lower fan switch temps. Two easy ways to fix engine temps, (not sure if you can modify fan switch temps in dsmlink though I just know ecuflash you can). Otherwise temps aren't really a huge dilemma, I know our engine bays get hot as shit though.

For me the real issue isn't that I don't like rice, because even the old muscle cars had rice. Grabbar Blue mustangs, plymouth roadrunner spoiler, mustang hatch louvres, lime green paint, chrome everything, etc. But that there is a large bias against our cars that I and most of the people on this site are trying to negate. The slow, loud, primer body kit, ricer. :nono: The only way to do that really is to de-rice our cars and show people that DSMs are a true power platform and not a pseudo rice-grinder. And it doesn't help that V8 enthusiasts have a tendency to be ignorant :shhh:

Haha yea I just got some new aerocatch hood pins so yea not the old ones. The old ones worked fine but my sister was trying to jump her bike battery and I think she might not have latched the pins all the way so I'm pretty sure that's why they failed.

Not an oem hood it was a cf oem style hood

The lower temp t-stat is something I looked into but I've found out for dd's and climate like mine it's not worth it the fan thing is something I'm looking into. As for as rice I'm past that. To me there is two kinds of cars, cars done tastefully and cars not. One of my friends had a pretty quick talon, he never goes to the track so i have no idea on a time but built high comp high boost e85 2.4l with a 35r ish sized turbo, but his car is orange and black used to have tribal viynals and a bodykit. I think it looks sexy (much better now without the tribal flames haha) but none the less fast is fast. If an 8 sec Gsx has a bodykit huge wing under glow and what not does it automatically become less cool?

And I found the hood vent at rre engineering I think I'll have to find the link.

Sry it was rre motorsports I was going to get the carbontrix vent

Looks like there is enough extra space around that CF hood or is it just the angle of the picture?

I got the new hood on finally and i really like it a lot more than i thought . The hood pins are a bit crooked but it was my first time ever :p

Still have to get the front bumper painted but im completly satified right now with the hood:D I also noticed with the bumper cutoutt and the vent it really helps the under hood temps, no actual logs just yet but it definetely feels cooler
