I searched but failed to find a question like this.I have a 92 tsi awd with a blown motor and I was wondering how difficult it would be to just swap in a n/a 4g63. Yes i know you think i am complete moron for even thinking of something like this, but hey its my car. I figure it should be a lot easier than n/a to turbo swap, but i just want to see how much would really be involved. Thanks.

Well let the flaming begin :|

Hey, if you have to do it to keep it on the road then I don't blame you. We don't have unlimited supplies of money. I don't know how easy it would be, it seems to me it should be easier.

Hell you might even find someone will to trade an NT 4G63 for a blown 4G63T

This would not be too hard. The engine is almost exactly the same between N/A and turbo versions, aside from a few mounting changes and some sensor differences.

If it were me, I'd use my turbo injectors and turbo ECU. If you can afford a SAFC, use that and a logger to tune out the A/F a bit in the upper RPMs for better gas mileage. You'll need to make sure you get an N/A exhaust manifold, and you may have to modify the exhaust (FWD N/A downpipe?) to fit since it's AWD. You'll also need a N/T intake hose/air cleaner assembly, unless you want to fab up your own.
