Sooo I was at the local races last night. Me and a couple honda guys were talking about my car and I was telling them about my boost creep and fuel cut issues and they were all like "you should pull the hose of the fuel pressure regulator and it would give you like 5 psi more fuel". Anyway I've never heard of that and I'm just wondering if these guys are idiots...?

When I said hose I meant taking off the vacuum hose and capping it off.

My vote is for idiots, or at least normally aspirated Honda heads.

Pulling the vacuum line will indeed give the 4G63T more fuel pressure as long as you are at idle. Bring on boost and the ECU expects the fuel pressure to be 43.5 (2G) PSI higher than the manifold pressure. At 20 PSI boost the injectors would have only 23.5 PSI pressure delta causing a very lead burn. But not for long.

Yup. Honda kids. Gotta love 'em... and put child safety locks on, before they touch ANYTHING under the hood of your car.

Not all Honda guys are idiots, OP for example is as idiotic as his Honda friends for asking this question and he's a DSM guy. :D :p

My hose popped off one the highway one time. I thought my car was dying!

Oh and not to mention the 20 or so other cars that were behind me, that couldn't see due to the bellows of black smoke, thought the same thing.

Well you're lucky you didn't get into boost or your car would have been DEAD.

Try this:
Do what the honda guy said, boost the hell out of the car and then take pictures of your pistons afterwards.. And then i can say "was that fun? The mad scientist fried his piston rings" <--- Fast and furious

Never an idiot for asking a question, means that you want to learn. Just that you're uninformed. The Honda guy was an idiot for spewing boneheaded advice like it was gospel.. which seems to be a trend, with them. Love the S2K guy who was still utterly convinced that my car was a GS, even after telling him that I just peeled off the X and turbo-stripe so ricer kids would stop revving at me. Couldn't comprehend why someone would want to make their car look slow. :D
