a honda guy looking into DSM

Hey Im new to this forum Im generally home to hondaswap.com and honda-tech using the same screen name. Well Ive owned 2 hondas in the past and both have had motorswaps. Recently the DSM caught my attention and Im really serious about getting one. Can everyone give me cons as to why not buy one? Im looking at 2g GSX's .... how reliable are these? Crankwalk isnt a common problem is it? Please help me out I want to know more about DSMs before getting one

What exactly do you want out of the car and what are you willing to do? How much money do you want to spend?

as for reliability. Well as with all older cars you will see good ones and bad ones.

How fast do you want the car to be? want to put body kits and a park bench on it?

crank walk only happens to about 10%-15% of all 2G's. The engine has no weak points like honda motors *COUGH* weak block *COUGH*. The 4G63 has been proven to make 400WHP on stock long block w/ proper tuning of course. The weak point of DSM is the drivetrain. Just do some searches and you will see that DSM are a great platform out of the box

crankwalk is way overhyped imo, and you are looking at going from a honda to a dsm.. you wont be disappointed buy an unmodded low mileage 2g to start with and it will treat you right if you do it the same favor
