OBX intake manifold

"And now back to our regularly scheduled program".

Figured I give a little info for the OP on the OBX intake.

Had it dyno tested and came up with some interesting results. To save me some fingertips I'll just reference the thread where the info is (which was referenced previously)

http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?a...d=105965&page=

It seems from the results that I have to re-assess my position on the OBX. Keep in mind that this comes with the disclaimer of the needed "adjustments" to the intake itself and then work from there.

Very Interesting

Exactly what I was hoping for thanks for the info man. I'm gonna do the same with my Venom only thing is the infor won't be as usable as I'm going to a custom intake and I have a Q45 tb LOL. But shoudl make a crazy intake setup all the way to the head.

Mark, its still the redheaded step child to be pointed at laughed at, but hey if someone wants to GIVE me one, I'll slap it on for that extra horsepower, and power band move.

Randy Randy Randy. So stubborn to change. Read what he put on the 2gnt forums he didn't just move the power band he expanded it flattend his curve and did exactly what you would want to do if say you were a turbo guy with cams that shined up top. This thing with the mods we have talked about is def worth the money.

I dunno if I'd have the patience to get all the tools I'd need to mod the intake manifold, after paying the cash for the manifold. (I think an extrude and honed stocker is probably gonna be up my ally) But hey Bullet, if you want to mail the manifold you just modded and send it over to me, I'll dyno test it and send it back, LOL (well maybe send it back depending on the results)

by the way How much is the obx manifold, and how much is the venom manifold...and are they still making either of them?

PAUL HURRY UP!!!!!

:p Damn, I wish you had said something sooner. I would of just had Matt at Dentsport (my tuner - shameless plug) send you the bill for my dyno test.

Venom, IDK. The OBX sells for $200 and up new. But you can generally get one used for less than half that. THAT is the biggest draw to using this intake (that and right now we have no other aftermarket choices). Of course, now it looks like we are going to have a couple of good choices. I know that Mike (all_motor_mike) is working on mine as we speak. I'm hoping to have it on and tuned by the Shoot Out in October.

Rand, as I said previously, I suspect that the extrude honed stocker will probably be right up there with the OBX (except for peak power point. I believe because of the runners, that the OBX will probably go higher). Given the choice of the two, I would have to go with the one that has the best accessability and cost.

I bought my venom off ebay for 150 shipped and I bought the obx for 20 bucs ow the OBX deal you won't find something like that everyday but the evenom is right in the ball park of what you will pay for either. It will cost you about that much to get your stocker done right.

Yeah forget the intake manifold paul get the exhaust manifold up and about thats' the only reason I haven't hopped on that log and turbo combo on ebay. Can you give us a hint as to the style of the maniolfd are we looking at a ram style or more like the xspower sipral design?? DO IT DO IT NOWWWW!!!! ROFL

I AM AN IDIOT!! I def bought another obx this isn't a venom. It even said it in the ad I just wasn't paying atention and it had a venom sticker on it. Oh well looks like my other obx is up for sale.

:D I'll give you $20 for it...........

yeah i think i'm gonna go back and everywhere i put how much i paid add a zero ROFL It's ok the one I got looks like someone did half the mods already. The runners on the inside look a lot flatter then my other one and it is already tapped for all the right fittings and map sensor. Not to mention it came with a extra rail and 450cc injectors :sneaky:
