Obx fuel trail N/T

hi

My dad bought 2 fuel rails.First the OBX one,then another one that had a bigger inner diameter.So the OBX one is on the shelf.
I thought to myself.Why cant i use it on my N/T 4g63 then.
Does this do any good performance wise?
I would like to know.

I kinda doubt you would see any real world gains on an application below 700 hp. If your N/A engine is starving for fuel there's probably some other cause besides fuel rail diameter. Check your filter.

With a non-turbo, if you are just looking at doing bolt on modifications, you really just want to lean out your Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) to get the most performance. Adding more fuel (making it richer) will actually hurt you performance wise. Also as mentioned the stock fuel rail will support upwards of 500 hp and a n/t DSM is 135 stock, not much more with bolt ons.

Yes thanks for the info. But how do you suggest me making it a bit leaner? I have a ebay intake and K&N filter.

That's really about it. However if you add more fuel without increasing the amount of air entering yhe combustion chamber, you will be losing power. That's why I gave up on my non turbo and did a full turbo swap. Now I can add more fuel (bigger injectors) and more air (more boost) and make more power. Its tough without a turbo.

On my non turbo I had the best success with a 2.5" cat back, ebay intake pipe, k&n filter, and new ngk plugs and wires. I added a lot more stuff (aluminiun flywheel, headers, hi flow cat, fuel pump, afpr) and actually lost time in the 1/4 mile (I went from a 16.1 to a 16.3).

So my advice, don't mess with the fuel. Get a good flowing cat back, new plugs and wires, and a clean free intake (which you have). Otherwise keep up on the maintence and enjoy a reliable car that gets good gas miliage.

If you want to go fast, buy a turbo DSM or look into a turbo swap.

Yes thanks for the info. I might look into new high flow spark plug wires. I have the normal ngk spark plugs that DSM's like. My wires i got them when i got the engine from japan. Its a JDM 4g63.
Now to find cheap wires that do the job.

As far as spark plug wires are concerned, the stock "blue" 7 mm NGK wires work great. If you just want bigger wires I would recommend the 8.5 mm Magnacore wires, but honestly if I were you I would stick with the NGK's. Also since yours is a non turbo you want to make sure you have the correct NGK spark plugs, not the ones for the turbo engine. Good luck with your car! It looks very clean in your avatar.
