i take it you have a 2gnt also? well i dont believe they have o2 housings, the downpipe just starts right off the turbo, and the wastegate has its own pipe

Yep, but I'm not using the supplied dp I'm going to use a 3" rre one I got for cheap. SO I'm wondering if I can use any o2 housing or if I have to make a special one?

lets see this RRE one... you sure its for the 420a?

It's for a gst, but the length is good and it bolts up fine. Just need to get an o2 housing/

Shouldn't any downpipe bolt up directly to the turbo in our case. Not to mention that the external wastegate that comes with the star kit, has its own dump tube anyways?

I'm just confused, as to why you would have to worry about 02housing on a 420a?

im confused on why he bought a GS-T downpipe when he has a 420a :toobad:

that makes 3 of us then.

Pictures please, of what you have to work with and perhaps we can come up with a solution

WEll I get that he wants a 3" DP instead of the 2.75" that the STAR KIT comes with.

But doesn't the GST Downpipe bolt up on the opposite side of the turbo compared to the way the turbo is put on.
(ie, facing our 420a's the dp is on the left, but on a gst its on the right)

right, the turbing side of the turbo is on the driver's side of a GS-T. thats why we can use GS-T cat backs, but not the GS-T cats. because they have a different angle to them, there not strait.

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life, but I have a few questions about this too. Right now, my exhaust is basically stock except for the muffler and the small section between the turbo and the rest of the downpipe that I fabbed up when I put the turbo kit in.

I'll be upgrading this summer and I'm pretty sure I want the same thing milenium99 wants: a complete 3" exhaust. I don't have a Hahn kit, so I can't use any of theirs because I'm pretty sure everything won't align. I have seen GS-T downpipes and it didn't look like the angle they were bent at was very extreme. My turbo is pushed far to the right on the manifold, and the section that connects to the downpipe needs to curve down and around anyway.

If this won't work at all, what's another solution, fabbing the whole downpipe?

If anybody has any pictures of the underside of a GS-T it would help out alot. I need to visualize how everything is situated to determine the best way to do this.

...yes

the only benefit i can see from using a gs-t down pipe would be if you have a full gs-t exhaust for the car, even than you would need to cut the downpipe and fab a new transition not hard if you have access to a welder. but to answer the question you would need an O2 housing with the same flange design as the exhaust housing on the turbo. which might be no good for you as you have an externally gated turbo. your best bet is to get some flanges and build a transition from the turbo to the down pipe, call it a custom O2 housing.
i hope this helps! happy building :thumb:
