I just got a CEL and its my rear o2 sensor. It had come on and off in the past and now its been on for a couple days. Went to autozone had it checked a few months ago and it was the o2 sensor. I had it checked again now and it says rear o2 sensor and incorrect first gear ratio. what does this mean?

I don't know about the incorrect first gear ratio, but I have the same problem with the O2 sensor even after replacing it. I see absolutely no difference in gas mileage and am going to instead do that little resistor mod to prevent it from throwing the code. I'm not sure exactly how it goes yet because I haven't done it but I know a quick search here or on 2gnt should tell you what to do if you don't want the code.

Remove your drivers seat by taking out the 4 bolts. Open up the slit in the carpet and find the cluster of wires that goes into the floor towards the rear passenger side. Cut the carpet some more to gain access to the black wire...now simply solder in a 1 megaohm 1/4 watt resistor inline and you're good to go :thumb:

A little search brought me this: radioshack part# 2711356, usually come in a 5 pack I believe ;)

You bet ya next turbo...that's it!!!LOL Looks like X got to it before me...thanks man. I have mine ready for when I get my Espelir...if needed.

...how would they know?

They're not gonna be aware of the rear o2 sensor not being hooked up unless they actually lift the car and look back there. The resistor is there to make the ecu happy, therefore no cel.

nice I am going to do it this weekend, any idea about the gear ratio?
