okay so i know there are some threads on doing a nt tranny swap into a turbo car but they all seem to be with 5speeds. i have a turbo spyder with a blown auto tranny and im getting desperate. i found an auto tranny outta a gs for 300 but i wanna make sure i can make it work before i buy it. i know that both the gst and gs have a 4g63 so i'm thinkin it shouldn't be a problem but i keep reading that they are different sizes and have different bolt patterns. if anyone could shed some light on my situation that would be great. thanks

If it is a hard top GS it will NOT work. I myself am having the exact same problem and have foud a transmission from a 2.4 galant (same as a 2.4 spyder n/t) And am currently doing research to see if it can be swapped in I will give you an update when I find out more.

I have a gst spyder with a blown trans as well. So exact same problem.

well i can tell you that if you have the turbo spyder then it's a 4g63t motor which is 2.0l. the tranny out of the galant will not work because the motor is a 4g64 (i think?) either way it's a different block and it's totally different mounting.

After doing some research. I have found to make the transmission out of 4g64 spyder may work in a gst. You will need is to repin one plug (7 wires) and use the 4g64 tcu. You also will/may need the 4g64 cv-axles.

As far as the Galant 4g64 transmission goes I am still researching. I have yet to be able to get a hold of a factory service manual for the Galant. I need to compare the wiring harness diarams to see what would be needed.

THIS AS FAR AS I KNOW HAS YET TO BE AN ACOMPLISHED SWAP!!! I do NOT know this will work 100%.
