Ok so I’ve never came to the form for some crazy reason for any advice... Maybe I have too big of an ego to think I need help understanding these cars since but in reality this site I’ve heard has helped many people. So I have invested in a low mileage 97 Eclipse gst that supposedly only had a blown head gasket recently fixed but when I purchased the car it didn’t have a turbo on it. Actually correction the turbo wasn’t on it it was on the ground on the side of it. It was a T3-T4 Chinese turbo so I didn’t even bother to put it on. Long story short I got a Evo 3 big 16g and since the car sat in the a/c garage not running for over 4 years I decided to install new fuel pump (stock) fuel filter, injectors 450 stock and new timing components with a Greddy profect B boost controller and fire it up.Car ideld fine but fell on its face when I went to drive it. Turned out the mass air flow was bad with a bad coolant temp sensor which I replaced as well now. So after the install of new mass and coolant temp I would try to rev the car and it would choke... well turned out the throttle body was bad as well so I replaced that with a 3000gt vr4 throttle body I had laying around for another project. Fired it up and man the car runs beautiful at idle. So I went to drive it after all the fix’s and I noticed the new fuel pump (stock) after letting the car idle while I was locking the garage up. I was walking up to it I could hear the pump like it was a walbro and it wasn’t sounding like that before. So I went to drive it and I pull out into traffic and all is fine car spools for a minute finally I can hear the turbo and then it starts to bog out but doesn’t stall. Feels like it’s fuel related and I’m not sure if we absolutely have to run a AFPR and a bigger fuel pump and bigger injectors along with tuning software with a big 16g. Remember supposedly the former owner was running a T3-T4 turbo with the exact same set up any input would be appreciated. Car is a 1997 Eclipse gst

The first answer every time is to perform a boost leak test and make sure there are no leaks

Your second task is to verify the tps is calibrated correctly, that it reads 0-100 throttle position using an OBD2 live data reader or using a volt meter to probe the tps sensor.

Third test is to verify fuel pressure using an afpr or fuel pressure test kit.

Since the car is stock and you seem knowledgeable, my shoot from the hip instict also sniffs the fuel pump being suspect as a stock one should not make any noise.

Yes tomorrow I’m just going to install the walbro 255 I have at the shop along with the 450 blue top injectors and see what happens but I’m still aiming at needing to get the AFPR to set duke pressure I really wasn’t trying to get ecm link or anything for this car I was hoping it would’ve been a quick upgrade and drive. I will also check for leaks with the boost leak test thank you for such a fast reply

The stock FPR will work fine for it. Some have had some overrun issues but I run one in my dd stock auto 92 and other than me hearing it, it runs just fine. My 02.
Make sure it is the regulator for an auto for an auto car or standard for a standard car. What ever you have is probably correct. :)

Your profile shows you have Link, can you post a log?
Did you get the 255 in and it is still starving? I see a AFPR in your avatar, is that not your current setup?

Yes my car has link but like I said before this is a different car I’m working on that I’ve recently purchased that is basically stock other than the upgrades that have been put on it. Please go back and read the first thread so you understand everything

Did you look in the tank when you replaced the pump? Maybe 4 year old gas???
Yes I drained the old gas and replaced the fuel pump with a new stock one I’m in the process of upgrading the fuel pump to a 255 walbro I’ll keep you posted

I read the whole thread, and have watched it since it started.
Please start a new profile for the car we are all trying to help on, that way it isn't confusing. Your profile says one thing and the original post says something entirely different. You can ad cars, I have 3 profiles.

Ok so I was a little confused to how this site works with the profiles hopefully I have it right now. So with that said I hit the walbro255 installed and car did the same thing. So I changed out the injectors thinking maybe 450cc black tops were too small nope car did the same thing complete fuel cut off. I did notice bubbles coming from the injector port so I changed out the seals for the injectors going to the head. Car will drive but as soon as you go into boost it hits fuel cut off on stock wastegate pressure. The walbro is screaming btw while all this is going on. Do I need a AFPR to run this set up??? Maybe also a front mount intercooler??? Idk at this point I’m going to perform a boost leak test tom after I purchase what I need to do so because when I checked all the piping and before I swapped out the injectors the car actually spooled and drove but then fuel cut started in again that’s why I decided to go with bigger injectors but car is still doing the exact same thing
