Normal Fuel Pressure?

I just went out into my garage and I noticed my fuel pressure gauge is reading about 20psi right now. I haven't drove it since Sunday and had the hood already propped open, which is why I noticed it. This happened before I drove the car on Sunday too but I checked it yesterday after work and it was at 0psi.

Its 90*+ weather right now, could that be causing this? Is it normal?

Weather has nothing to do with the Fuel Pressure.

Check you AFPR to see if it is holding the pressure.

Try to adjust the Regulator to see if it is working good.

If everything is good, Check your Fuel Pump, to see if still pushing good.

And Finally, check your fuel Filter.

I was thinking that perhaps the higher temperatures in the garage caused the gases in the fuel tank to expand and cause the rise in pressure.

I don't know how to check the AFPR to see if it's holding pressure or not. I did just change the base pressure to 43.5 on Saturday though with no problems.

I was doing some pulls Sunday evening and I had no trouble running pig rich, so I think the fuel pump is still working. Also I was able to start the car and see the pressure go to where it normally does. I then unplugged the pump and started it up until it died and the gauge did go to 0psi.

I swapped my fuel filter last fall, but I have gone through 3 tanks on e85, so I'm due for a new one. I'll be putting a new one on before I start the car up again.

Funny thing, I just went outside to check it out and it went back down to 0psi. No idea why. So I'm assuming this has never happened to anyone and is not normal? Thanks for the input.

Is your guage a liquid filled one if so it usually is a little off untill cars warmed up although in 90* weater it should be fine. Just buy a new guage their like 20 bucks from extreme psi.

I might give that a shot. I was just trying to see if anyone else had this experience before or if anyone knows if I should be concerned about it. I didn't want to be stressing over nothing, but I also don't want to leave it be if it will cause a problem.

Do you have a wide band and is your car running at all if so hows the performance?

I'm thinking this is temperature related. This morning when it was cool outside ~70*, the gauge showed 0psi. I just got home from work and its at 25psi. I called Fuel Lab and they said this could happen due to the heat increasing the pressure in the fuel system while the car is just sitting there.

The car runs just fine besides at WOT I have knock that I can't seem to get rid of, even on e85. Yeah I have a wideband and it seems to be matching up quite well with AFRestimate in Link.

I think you just have a faulty guage then

Are you checking the gauge when the car is on or off. If the car is off it is common for the fuel pressure to drop over time. If the car is on either you need a new pump or your AFPR is shot.

The car is off. The last time I started the car was Sunday, I'm using my bike for transportation right now. Yesterday it showed around 20psi at 5:30pm. At 10:00pm yesterday, the pressure had dropped to 0psi. This morning at 7am the pressure was 0psi. When I got home from work today at around 5:30pm the gauge read 25psi.

Right now it reads 5psi. Still I have not touched the car since Sunday.
