Those are good groupings. Keep practicing and keep up the good work! I told you the XD's could shoot

Yeah, the thousand yard line is even worse. On the original pic (I had to shrink it down a LOT) if you zoom in a bit you can actually make out the silhouette target. The white dots on the far ridge are the cardboard backings holding the targets (the cardboard is about three times as wide as the actual target, a standard B-27.)

i like to paint(spray) in the city, skateboard,surf,snowboard, work on the dsm, chill, drink, go to clubs(cannabis and dance) bars, look for other dsm's.

^ yeah my friend has a wakeboard boat and he goes to the sac delta all the time, i go sometimes too...

I tried wake boarding once, stopped about five minutes later with a bloody nose and lungs full of water (don't ask how). I ride bikes with my girlfriend and our friends as much as possible, but when we cant, we go shooting.

I spend a good amount of my time with school. I have been enjoying going to the gym and going running. I like to read, watch movies, play X360 (when I have time), shoot guns, and will be getting into motorcycles and flying pretty soon. Unfortunately school does not allow me to goof off as much as I would like to, but whatever.

im impressed with the xd9 that i got last year too, put more than 1000 rounds thru it and no problem at all...saving up for a 45 springy operator

I live in SF but enjoy shooting when im not tinkering with the DSM.

I have a springfield XD .40, that i shoot at the pistol range from time to time. more frequently i shoot my beretta urika 2 12gauge at the skeet range breakin clays (when its not hunting season!)

Im looking to get something .223 caliber to have fun with (if you have any info on legality in cali pm me because im a newb to rifle shooting). My buddy brought up his mini 14 the last weekend of duck hunting and we were having fun shooting that thing off.
Im also looking to get a larger caliber rifle... 30-06 maybe or something that i can use for all around hunting, pig, deer, maybe an elk or something down the line.
Ive always wanted to get into some kind of accurate rifle shooting since i was a kid, i just havent had anyone show me the ropes.


havoc, if you have any info on the legality of .223's in cali (preferably something semi-auto rather than bolt action) let me know!!!

The AR-15 and SKS are the two styles all the magazines rave about and the aftermarket for them is awesome. With all the new advances in modern weaponry and ballistics the old tales about the M-16 and the inaccuracy of the .223 are all but forgotten. I personally prefer Stag Arms or Rock River Arms for AR style semi-auto .223's. Both have respectable lower end models and with the aftermarket you can make one hell of a great weapon. Or you can look into their upper end line rangeing between $2k-$6k. Either way you won't be disappointed. The thing to remember with the AR rifles is the parts and brands are pretty much all interchangable.

As far as the legal aspects go in Cali, the restrictions I am aware of on semi-auto's are you can only have a 10rd magazine, it obviously can not be fully auto, the stock can not be colapasable and you can not have a thumb hole stock. There is no law on the .223 round specifically.

My best suggestion to you would be to pick up a subscription to "Amercian Rifleman" and "Guns and Ammo". I would also suggest looking into a subscription to "Handloader" as you will want to reload your own ammo. You will inevitably go through a lot of ammunition with an AR. The magazines talk about alot of weapons that are not specifically legal in Cali. Pick up a firearms law pamphlet from your local gun dealer and refresh yourself with California Gun laws or do a search online. If you buy an AR rifle in Cali at a gun dealer it will be Cali legal. If I'm not mistaken you can not directly buy a firearm online in the state of California. There is a way to do it legally but you have to go through a local gun dealer.

I love my .30-06 but I really wish I had gotten a .308. The ammo is cheaper and there is a lot more to do with a .308. They now even have AR's in .308 and .338. The .308 and .30-06 fire generally the same bullet just with different cases. The .308 has a little less recoil and a flatter trajectory. It's also plenty for any large game we have here in Cali. A well placed shot at a 100yds will even bring down a nice 8 point elk with out the need to spend the next 3 hours tracking his arse down.
