IM new to the dsm world. i recently aquired a 97 rs spyder. Im from south Fl. i use to have a honda prelude about a year ago. I wanted to try something different i got this car at basically a steal i got some engine questions if ne 1 could help would be great. i know i have the 4g64 which is the single cam 2.4L i know that the 420a in the rs n gs its a hard job to do 4g63t engine swap cause of mounts n all that other good stuff. but seeing that in the 4g64 its all on the same side is there ne coustom fabrications that need to be done if i wanted to swap to the 4g63t. i know about the hybrid i wanted to do that slowly n have a spare motor just in case. but does ne 1 know about that 4g63 swap in a spyder or know what fabrications needs to be done. i know ill need the tranny,ecu, complete engine, axles n all that basic stuff but ne thing else?? thanks

Why swap the the entire 2.0L engine instead of just the head? Swapping the entire engine is a hell of a lot more work, costs much more, and you'll miss out on that extra .4L of displacement.

thats what i am gonna do but what i wanna do is make sure i have everthing correct pistions rods everything. plus i think it would be a good idea to have a spare motor hin case nething happens the labor wont cost much i have a buddy of mine that a mech me n him can do the job so labor is not a big deal.

I would just keep the 4g64...most of the 4g63 turbo parts bolt up to it anyways, and like TimDSM said, you get more displacement.

yea but i would rather have a spare motor just in case. with my luck something would mess up. jus figured ill get the turbo motor drop it in get some pistons for the 4g64n some rods get another 4g63 head make sure everything is all good drop that bad boy in later on the build up the 4g63 motor that i got there jus in case
