First off, sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere. But I've searched a little and found mostly info. for you turbo guys.

We just got a 97 GS, and I was wondering what spark plugs/wires are recommended for the non-turbo?

Also, I found a thread for gas mileage for the GSX and GS-T guys, but what should I expect from the GS as far as gas mileage, or total miles per tank? I don't think we're getting what we should out of it.

Thanks in advance!

you can get up to 400 miles on a tank if you drive like a grandma but 300-350 is more reasonable for a non-turbo. All DSMS use the NGK plugs. Wires are just the lowest resistance wires (ohms) that you feel like paying for.

I'm on my first tank, and have been on the freeway 90% of the time, and I'm at just over 1/2 a tank...(it's been 120 miles) I'm hoping maybe the needle is just quick to get down to half tank and will level out down below for awhile. I've had that happen in another car. But I'll be pretty upset if I'm getting 240 miles to a tank in this thing.....

Thanks for the post...but what is the PN for the NGK plugs? Thanks again!

NGK BPR6ES at .028 gap. and the fuel gauges are rediculously inaccurate, alot of time they will read E and still be 1/4 full. but if your only getting 240 miles per tank than you have mileage issues and you should probably check your front 02 sensor, dont worry about the rear one... its worthless.

Speaking of gas mileage...

Anyone notice that the gas gauges in our cars move at different rates depending on how much gas you have left? For example, I find that from Full to 3\4th of a tank takes a long time... once you hit 3\4th it takes like a day and your down to half. From half to 1\4th is about middle of the road, and finally from 1\4th to Empty is insane.

Ive driven my car for what seems like an eternity on just above E and on E.ROFL

As for wires, I have been using the same set of ACCEL wires for like 5 years without a single problem.:rocks:

sweet, thanks! One other question about the fuel....is there (i don't have the car with me to go check) a low fuel light? I'll just run it till the light comes on. Otherwise, I'll fill it when it's on E....not gonna take a chance. :)

Thanks again for all the info. Good to know it could be just a crappy guage.

I've got some ThunderVolt50 10.0 mm wires that are bad @$$. Ive got them on my 4g63 NT right now and have had them on my turbo. They hold up A LOT better and have very little resistance, they seem to last longer than the Accel ones, but when i had the accel ones, I left the cover on them:( . As far as plugs, ive got the NGK irridium (sp?) from advanced auto, and together they work great:thumb:
