no start...searched but no luck.

i have a 95 eagle talon tsi awd. It has an intake and hard piping, other than that it's completely stock. I was driving and then my car backfired and died, then when I treid to start it up it had a really rough idle and then it'd die. Even if i gave it gas it wouldn't stay alive. So I checked my oil and spark plugs, changed the oil and the spark plugs, now it won't even turn over. It tries to start but it just won't turn over all the way. Any suggestions? I'm thinking coils but im not sure if its that. this is my first talon so bear with me please.

Start by checking the tb and make sure it didnt jump timing. Next, try a compression test. If both of those turn out good, check the plugs for spark and make sure the injectors are spraying fuel. There are many, many things it could be so this would be the best order in which to troubleshoot.

You'll need to verify whether you're lacking fuel or spark first.

It'll give you the basic troubleshooting guideline to get you started. A lot of it is geared toward 1gs, but 2gs follow the same principle.

Get back to us once you've performed some of these tests and we'll be able to give you some more specific direction.
