No start question.

Okay here is the deal. I install a new MBC, Moved the knock sensor because it was in the wrong spot (yes its plugged in), and performed a boost leak test. MAF is hooked back up. With the charger on the battery it wont start. Doesnt even turn over. No spark. And I hear a loud whizzing sound from the engine bay, is this the starter spinning? Im guessing its spinning but not pushing out the little gear that catches the flywheel? Havent started it for two weeks. Two weeks ago it was warm out now I try and start it when its around 40*, is the weather effecting it? Probably needs a new starter but maybe I missed something stupid? Another quick question, I noticed the MAF wiring has a smaller connector(looks like it accepts 3 prongs) about 6" from the MAF connector, what is this? Not sure where it goes.

Sounds like a dead battery. How much/long did you charge it for? Much not have quite enough juice to kick the starter gear out. If you can't get it to work...and the starter is definately spinning....try taking the starter off and lubing up the starter bendex.

How much juice does it take to kick the starter gear out? I tried jumping it with another vehicle and still no luck. figured that would do it, so i figured there is something wrong with the starter.

there is a silionoid in the started that makes it pop out. if that goes bad replace it. you should hear a click before you hear it turn.

It could be some bad wire connections or corrosion. I would look at the starter and battery wires very carefully. Again check to see if the starter is spinning. If it is then you might just have a bendex problem.
