I think im getting a bad ground. I have the negative grounded on one of the little studs on the rear tail panel, I sanded to bare metal though. anyone else have any ideas why I wont start. When I turn the key to ON, it all sounds like it did before the battery relocation, just when I go to crank it, it will be a faint whine...

good places to run my ground will also help me, so speak up!

thanks :banghead:

Make sure the trunk ground is in a place with a fair amount of metal. ALSO you need a chassis to block ground up front. Engine bay battery - cables go from batt to chassis to block. Without the chassis to block ground the starter may not work or it may ground itself through the driveline. I know on starions without the chassis to block ground it usually tries to ground through the throttle cable and destroys it.

would not having a chassis to block ground cause a no start though, im just trying to get some cranking in before I tie everything down. the main negative ground is all i have going to that little stud on the rear tail panel, thinking thats the cause of the no start

I would move the trunk ground to a better location and make sure there is a chassis to block ground. Then the starter should work.

Take it from me: You have to ground everything. Overkill is key. Make sure the block is grounded well. Ground the IM. I havent done it yet, but i strongly suggest 4ga wire from the alternator to your positive busbar(or whatever the strip is called) up front. I grounded in the rear trunk as well as a 4ga wire all the way to the block and from the block to the firewall. Now if i had just not cheaped out and bought 0 or 2 wire i would have needed far less wire than i have. I had to run 2 4 ga wires for positive all the way from the trunk up front.

Complete overhaul coming soon. Wont make the same mistake twice. Voltage drop sucks too, thats why i recommend upgrading alt wire.

I haven't installed the 150A inline fuse yet. It was the engine to body ground. didnt think that would cause a no-start, but guess it did!
