NO Spark, please help

I have no spark, on a 1g auto awd tsi. I have just completed replacing head after 3 months and now after putting it all back together it has no spark. I don't think it would be the ecu because it ran fine up until the timing belt slipped and its been sitting in my garage for 3 months. I think it may be the cam sensor since I had to tap it in with a hammer but it also could be the crank sensor has oil,dirt and metal flakes on it. Is there anyone that could give me an idea what to check, where and how.

no, but i never removed it from the intake. what should I check on it?

No spark. I'd check to see if you have 12 volts at your coil pack and injector harness.

Your CAS is all you have. Buy an extra one. You will need it eventually.
When my 90 wouldn't start, I checked the cas with a scope and no signal. I doubt you have an oscilloscope, so you can substitute a known good part.

Get a schematic and check the wires that have 12 volts to make sure it's all there.

by CAS you mean Crank Angle Sensor or Camshaft Angle Sensor?

I tested the plug that goes into the cam sensor and had 2 ground and 2 neutral. none were hot in any key position. That doesn't seem right, is it? faulty pcm?

yeah I put it back the way it came out. I'll have to get a volt/ohm meter tommorow to test stuff. All I have right now is a test light.

to update my dilemma, I have done some testing and some reading from various sites on what else to check and I also had a condition I did not notice before. NO check engine light so after some testing and adding a ground to pin 8 on the mpi, car fired right up

So now I need a ecu and I was wondering if I could use a 166262(91-92 AWD turbo M/T) ecu with 450 injectors?? And if so, anyone got spares with new caps ??

Does PIN 8 bypass the ECU?

No, grounding pin 8 activates the MPI relay if the MPI fuse is good and power reaches the relay. This is what the ECU normally does in reaction to the ignition switch turning on. So what your doing is bypassing this one power up circuit in the ECU not the whole ECU.

If grounding the pin makes the car run it narrows down what you have to debug.
