2G No spark idle surge and lack of power

My recent rebuild is complete-ish. First start up we got some bad idle surge and I lack power, it almost feels like the tranny is either slipping or the clutch isnt releasing all of the way. I drove it home from the shop to feel it out and do a vac test on it here at home and when I got it here it quit surging and ran but it ran really really rich so i let it idle for a bit then it just sputtered out and died. Now, I have no spark and I still need to figure out why it surged so bad and it idled at 1300 i dont know alot about dsms but that sounds kinda high to me but I dont know so any help would be epic. Thanks for your time.
 
It should Idle at 700 +/- 50 rpm, (I think thats right, its atleast around there). The haynes manual tells you how to adjust the idle speed, or i'm sure vfaq has a guide, i can't find the link at the moment. but that should fix one of your problems atleast
 
Ok so i read a few of those suggested threads and found out that my 95 talon shouldnt have the cas on the valve cover. Well, mine does so i have 97-99 head, so I'm asking what exactly do i need to do for my CAS to read correctly ### now i'm confused all to hell about it and i thought i had it figured out

Check your compression, no spark is usually due to a bad transistor or coil pack.
 
I'm pretty sure the ground wires are hooked up. I read that even if my CAS is hooked up correctly if I dont change the firing order that my 95 ecu wont work right because the sensors read different in the ecus between 2ga and 2gb anyone know about this or have a suggestion for me. I'm gonna line the CAS up correctly today, but I need to make sure EVERYTHING is correct. I cant afford for this car to be immobile for any longer.
 
I have a 95 eagle talon but somewhere along the lines somebody has a 97-99 head on it because it has the valve cover CAS. I read a couple of threads about it but it was still unclear. I just want to know what to do to make the CAS work for my 95. Money is not an issue I received a big tax check this year so I just need to know what to buy and how to do it....but keep in mind that i do not want to buy some 1200 dollar E.M.S. because i dont want to go that crazy with the car so anything other than that would be awesome help. Remember i just need to know what to do to wire a 2gb CAS to a 2ga ECU to run right.
 
From the 2ga to the 2gb style CAS the signals to the ecu are inverted. From what I understand, your car runs right now, correct? Just like poo? My friends GSX had a similar problem and I had to swap the plug wires at the coil packs. Take 1+4 wires and swap them to 2+3s spots. And 2+3s to where 1+4s used to be.. Hope that helps!
 
Ok I've read the whole CAS switch out wiring stuff and all that. I've poured through the forums and stuff and I'm still really really confused. Somebody hardwired the CAS into my 2g wiring harness and I have a 2g head and I don't think that they switched it at the ECU. I just got a 300M c.o.p. setup and I need to know how in the world I can change the firing order to work with the 1G CAS but on my 2G head with a C.O.P. Any and all help will be phenomenal because I'm still freaking out about the damn thing not running.
