First off the car is a 1997 Eclipse Rs. I went to change the Throw Out Bearing because there was a grinding noise coming from my trans. After bolting everything back up, i started the car and it sounded like my trans complete fell to the ground so i turned the car off. Needless to say, something got messed up or my trans may have been the problem to begin with. Anyways, i went to start the car back up and nothing! I can't even get power to put up the windows or lock the doors!! The worst part is the windows were down when it happened!! I replaced the battery with a brand new one and still nothing. Is there a certain fuse or relay that would cause me to loose all power to my car. I am completely lost right now, any help is greatly appreciated!

Check the main fuse and connection going to the main fuse box and make sure your grounded. The fuse box is located in the engine bay by the battery.

All fuses in the engine bay fuse box appear to be in good condition, and the grounds are intact. All connections seem to be good, no random loose wires or anything

is the battery grounded? check the wall to make sure there isnt too much corrosion (i know i spelled that wrong... drinking) but thats just weird man good luck let us know what happens.

thanks man. I checked the grounds, no corrosion, and they're attached appropriately. The terminals don't even make a spark when i touch them to the battery. Im clueless on anything electrical with cars LOL

Im going to be going out to try and diagnose what is causing my problems. Any one have any ideas that could put me in the right direction?

yeah that was one of the first things that i checked. This is the wierdest thing b/c its not like i could have hit a bump and loosened something up. I litterly turned the car off and went to turn it back on and now nothing LOL

Get a voltmeter and test from the negative post of the battery to the clamp thing around the positive post to see if you're getting a connection between the posts and the clamps. Check from positive post to negative clamp too.

I guess you'll just have to trace it with a test light. Something must not be getting a connection. I assume you twisted the battery cables on tight and checked the main fuse.

Yeah battery cables are on tight and checked the main fuse. Was going to use the test light today to try and trace it, but of course it's broken! :ohdamn:

Im going to go grab another one sometime this week when i get a minute and try to figure out why im not getting power.

Make sure you check the "engine" fuse which I think is like a 120 amp screw-in type fuse that completes the charging path from the alternator. It is towards the front of the engine well fuse box.
