For some reason i'm not getting power to my OBDII port anymore, it used to work fine. The only thing i've done since it stopped working was remove the Security and door lock fuse[(cause my power locks were messing up). For some reason my alarm still goes off if i don't lock the doors before i remove the key]. Is there a fuse for the OBD port or can i wire the 12v+ from the OBD to a known working source and still pull codes.

Thanks:dsm:

Can someone please help me with this, cause now i have a CEL and anything above 5000rpm in gear it starts sputtering and missing really bad when part throttle. At WOT it just stops at 5100rpms and sits there until i change gears.

radio fuse. In the fuse box under the hood, the yellow bracket thingy with two fuses in it, check those.

if i remember correctly, the OBDII power is shared with the same circuit as the horn/cig lighter ... Does the horn and/or cig lighter work ? if not im willing to bet changing the fuse will give you power.

Mike

Ps - I'm also willing to bet that you have a multiple misfire code stored in the ecu, If you can't get power to the connector, replace the plugs/wires and see if that fixes the issue.

OK i went to check it today, and i noticed it said it was for Room Lamp or something like that, and all my interior lights work. I will take it out and check it in a min. Also i popped the hood to check for any loose plugs or wires, and my TPS somehow wiggled its way loose. I put some silcone stuff on the outside of the plug and put it back together, I will test drive it tomorrow to see if it still missing and sputtering.

Thanks

I would put new wires on it right away, i'm willing to bet thats the issue. i had the same issue with mine and spent 2 weeks trying to figure it out, put wires on and worked out fine.

Good luck!

Mike

I'm trying to solve his no power to OBD port problem, pretty sure plug wires has nothing to do with it.

He was trying to help with my misfire issue, but i found out my TPS was unplugged and that is what was causing it. But the main issue no OBD power, I checked both fuses(radio/room lamp) last night and they were good.?

What scan tool did you use ? Have you tried taking it to Autozone and seeing if they can pull a code ? Maybe something wrong with the scan tool in relation with your car ? If the fuses are good then it should be getting power, otherwise it's gonna have to be a wiring issue.

Edit: Some scan tools offer a self power option .. where you can hook it to the batt and supply the power for the connector, and yes even OBDII!

Well, AutoZone has tried 2 different types of scanners, one is powered from the OBD port and the other was self powered and with the self powered one connected it said it couldn't find vehicle or something like that.

This needs to be solved. I am also having the same problem. I was able to use it about 3 months ago. Now... it will not connect. Even after rebooting of the OBD2... it wont connect.

Gurus... lets get this done.

Do yourself a favor and one at a time remove, check, and re-install all of your fuses under the dash. I don't remember which one but it does draw power from one of those fuses. (This happened to me when I bought mine)

Side note: just because the fuse isn't blown, doesn't mean you have a good connection at the fuse box. Hope this helps

I checked the actual OBD port and all the pins are there and none of them are loose, i checked port 16 for power and got none. So afterward i went to autozone to see if they could pull the code with one of those self powered code readers, and it said "please connect to vehicle". What in the world could cause this. I also traced the wires back a little(cause they go up into some plastic bracket then behind the dash) and everything looked stock(wrapped in black tape with thick zip ties holding all the wires together). Any help would be great thanks.:dsm:

My car has the exact same problem, but the difference is at least you can drive yours....

Before my obd2 stopped working pocket logger gave me the codes P005 and P2461

I've never heard of these codes before and only thought they went up to like P1999?

I was searching a bit earlier and I heard something bout the a/c fuse under the hood...Pulled it out it tested good but can tell it was a bit toasted, replaced it and then checked power to my obd2 port....I have around 10 volts of power....

Now I just got to try to get my pocketlogger to connect or get some generic scan tool and try it....But it still didnt connect

Off topic Anyone happen to have an idea what all controls spark? I got fuel pressure and air but no spark....Tested coil pack Good, Transistor pack Good, Spark plugs gapped correctly Good, Anything else control spark?

Cam Angle Sensor controls spark. Unbolt it and spin it, to see if it working.

For the OBDII problem, I had this when I originally bought the car. The guy before me had no driver side inner fender splash shield which caused the wires that went to the fuse box under the dash to get corroded where they connect to the fuse box. So I would say check to make sure there is no corrosion on the back of the fuse box under the dash. I ended up re-soldering every wire on the back of the fuse box to fix the problem.
