No one makes a gauge vent bezel anymore :(

Looking for a vent gauge bezel for my 1g talon... something like this one

That one that you get on ebay doesn't work. I already bought it.

and the problem is, it has to wide of a stance for the gauges, so there are those 2 mounting screws behind the vent "fixture" and you would have to cut those out of the way.

And there isn't a way of actually attaching the bezel to the dash, it just relies on like... pressure to hold it in...which doesn't work.

I have that mounting plate for the vent, and after a little bit of head scratching i made it work just fine. My experiences were that the guages have to be pushed in without the surrounding bezels...the ones that screw onto the back of the guages and hold them into the hole you mount into, but the fit is tight enough that the guages stay in just fine, and without the bezel they just manage to fit without cutting into the screw mounts behind the vent. The mounting plate fit very snugly into the vent once i'd removed the vent grill, I could glue it in but I might want to change guages sometime, and it fits well enough on its own that i'm confident it will stay, unless i'm in a significant accident, in which case i'm not worried about it.

Yeah I got some auto meter gauges, and they don't fit tight enough, I need those little holding plates in the back.

And the gauge bezel doesn't fit tight enough into the vent spot. I would have to glue it...and to be honest i'm not really fond of that idea.

The one in my car has a slowboy emblem on it they might still sell them

Sounds like you have a good starting template then. A dremel, a sheet of 1/8" sheet steel, and some spraypaint and you'll have a good one.
