I used to have a horn. Now its gone. I took my horn off to place it somewhere else now the bolt got loose and the horn dragged on the ground till it got ripped off. Now I got a new one but when i hook the wires up to it they dont work. When i press my horn button on my steering wheel i get a ticking noise from the fuse relay in the engine bay COMING from the horn/ res 12V fuse thing. Now every single horn I got from a junkyard car or brand new has a red and green colored wire and then a black. The 2 wires on my car are only black. Why is this. IM VERY VERYY VERYY PEEEESSSSED off about it. I need a horn. I baught that damn chiltons repair manual to find the wireing and it dosent show me. That book lied to me saying it has every wireing diagram in the eclipse's. ALSO every vacuume line and diagram NOPE I want to know where to hook my SAFC up to when i make my car turbo again also where to suck in a can of seafoam. Many people said the pcv valve dosent get all cylinders. So i looked for another line and THERE ISNT ONE OTHER LINE COME ON.

You know those bumper stickers, the ones that say, "Horn doesn't work, watch for finger". I think it's time for one of those............

Seriously though, you said there are only 2 wires and they're both black. Maybe they're both black but one has to have something on it to distinguish it from the other, such as small writing in white words, a white stripe, something, that will be your positive, the other will be your negative. And I'd assume that on the other horns the red is positive and the black is negative, no idea what the green is though.
If none of that helped, then you're gonna have to use my advice up top.

Well, have you tried to go and buy a horn from your car exactly, a 97 N/T?? Im not familiar with 2G's, but did you think that you might have ripped out another wire when you dragged it on the ground?? And as far as a can of seafoam goes, use any vacuum line leading to your intake manifold, just suck it in there, anyone of those that is creating vacuum from the intake manifold. I wish I could help with that vacuum line diagram, but I only know of one for a 2G with a 4G63 in it, sorry, maybe one of the eclipse 420A turbo'd guys can chime in here like Eclipseturbo420A. Hope I gave you some sort of help, good luck.

my fellow DSMers......There is 2 black wires......both the same exact for some reason. Maybe one wire is ripped out from the fuse relay box and thats why its ticking? I duno its a thought i got nothing to lose. Now there isnt 3 wires from the horn only 2 and ONE wire is red and green.....it had a green wire with a red strip. and the other is black and no i havent found a 97 NT horn yet. IM trying my hardest though. I already have that bumper sticker on my car. I want a horn back pretty bad. Thanks for the help so far guys

My best advice would be to just find a 97 N/T, since you cant seem to match the right one up, and that relay click is good, means the button works, the relay also works, but just the horn itself doesnt work.

A horn is a horn and it doesn't matter which wire goes where because it's just a load device. Make sure one of the wires has ground and the other has 12v with the horn button pressed. If both are good the horn is bad.
