My talon was having timing issues up at about 5,500rpm, so I took it too checkers and gave it a scan. Apparently someone ghetto rigged my knock sensor, cause the wires were all melter and its a mess. So I unplugged it and everything worked great.

Now my question is. is this dangerous on a stock Talon and when wont it be safe.
I dont know too much about my vehicle i just look in my book and try to figure it out

thank you

I was under the impression there was no knock sensor on the 2G's. Do you have a 6bolt swap or something? If not then it might be something else you were looking at.
If i were you i would get a pocketlogger (or borrow from a DSM'er near you) and log a pull to see what all is going on in there.

There most certainly is - in fact, it's a better and more accurate sensor than the 1G version.

I think maybe you misinterpreted this based on the fact that you can't directly datalog knock on 2G's. The ECU will adjust the timing, and you have to look for dips in timing if you're looking for knock.
