hey all i just got a new 1g today and i noticed that in full throtle my stock boost gauge reads 0 the car runs really rough. and has been siting for a long a while. could it be my fuel filter is cloged?

One of the first things with buying a used car is doing all maintenaince and repairs.

Full timing belt change which includes timing belt, both pulleys and the auto tensioner. If the balance shafts are still there, either eliminate them or get the belt replaced as well.
Change all fluids (coolant, engine and tranny oil)
New plugs (NGK BPR6ES) and wires
Replace old worn hoses and vacuum lines
If your BOV is vented to the air, connect it back to the intake.
Anything else that needs repaird or changed do it as well.

Next thing is you need to do a boost leak test to find any and all boost leaks and replace/fix the leak.

Main leaking spots are cracked vacuum lines, throttle body shaft seals, leaking BOV, intercooler pipe connections, injector seals and any gasket that sees positive air pressure.

Also, make sure your first mod which should be part of maintenance is getting an accurate boost gauge as the stock gauge just reads off of numbers sent to the ECU and the ECU just causes the needle to move up and down.

Onto the problem, is your car throwing a CEL at all and have you done a boost leak test?

you should get a after market gauge cause the stock ones a junk mine was goin hay wire so i went after market it gives you a way better reading.
