no boost - dead turbo?

i went for a drive and on the way back, the boost gauge wouldnt go past 0 psi. most of the time it will go up to like 15. did my turbo lock up or what? i just took off the exhaust (after the cat) could that have something to do with it?

Do a quick check of your ic pipes.
Then do a boost leak test.

well there is no positive boost at all, so i think maybe a hose blew off, i dont know. it must be something big like a jammed turbo, i dont think i really need to do a boost leak, i mean, there's no boost to even leak if its not making any

it overheats in about 15 mins i dont know why. my point is im waiting for it to cool down still. but ill get on that when it does

That makes absolutely no sense. You need to perform a boost leak test. Does the car run rich, black smoke, etc..?

No boost can be caused by a leak. A boost leak test will tell you where this leak is at
Like I said to a quick check of your pipes and hoses. Then do a boost leak test.
even If you find a ic pipe came off, still do the boost leak test.You could have a leak somwhere else aswell

Just stick your head right down there and take a big sniff. If nothing smells weird when no ones looking just stick your tounge out and give it a nice big lick. She will enjoy that. Im speaking from experience.

how did it taste? Some $hit doesnt smell but its still $shit
Back on topic. A boost leak test is your best bet.

well i cant do the boost test till tomarrow. ill go out and see if the spindle wiggles right now

edit: its too dark and i couldnt find the right socket. my fat little fingers wont get down the intake so ill have to get back to you guys later

my turbo seems to be in perfect condition. i had a look around, and i think the wastegate is stuck. i was driving down the road and i was messing with some guy in a talon. my car was going super slow, making no boost at all, and then the boost gauge flew up to 15 and i took off like a rocket. it scared me but it was cool. i was in a 25mph road going 60 so i had to slow down, but it was fun. then i couldnt get any boost after that. so ya, i think the wastegate needs some oil or something. ill try to do that boost leak thing in a bit, i have to wait to make sure there's all cops are gone so i can pull my car out. (i also killed the battery~no good)

Your wastegate might be sticking open, due to a malfunctioning actuator(sp?)
