My 1g I just bought has about 250 miles on the rebuilt motor. The guy I got it from told me to give it about 1000 to break in before raising the boost. As of right now there is no BC on the car, just a bypass to the wastgate so it only hits 7psi. Is this safe to run until it breaks in and I get some injectors, safc, and a datalogger? It does have a Walbro 255 pump

That sounds like a good idea to me. That's what I'm going to do for the first 500 miles when we install the ACT2600 since my right foot gets heavy sometimes.
 
Despite popular belief, a turbo does not have to be broken in. Of course, if you are paranoid, you can always give it a break in period. there is no way your 16G is going to run 7 psi though. The WGA will give a consistent 10-12 psi because that's what the stock spring is set at . However, you can run up to 12 psi with a stock fuel system and no tuning. YOU DO NOT want to raise it past that. With your walbro 255, you are over running your FPR and you will want to get an AFPR to lower your base fuel pressure. If you do not, logging and trying to tune your car will be worthless.

*edit* I just realized that your entire motor was just rebuilt. In that case, IMO give her a good 1500 - 3000 mile break in before going WOT at all.
 
My suggestion is keep your injectors, trade your fuel pump for a smaller walbro 190 (allowing you to get by safely until you get that fpr) and until you really decide to go all out that will be more that enough for your current setup and then some. thats my 2 cents.:dsm:
 
well my boost gauge shows .5bar which is about 7psi so I dont know if it is actually hitting 12 psi... it def doesnt feel like it. My first dsm I had my 14b at 13psi and it pulled harder

he's breaking in the motor not the turbo.:D
 
Yea the turbo is fine, its the fuel system and the boost im worried about
 
Its ok. Do you guys think I am damaging my car running 7psi with no fuel control?
