Nitrous for spool up purpose

Anybody run nitrous for quicker spool up? I think about wet kit 50hp, kick around 4000rpm, turn off at 6000, or at the redline, I don't know. DSMLINK should be control all the setup. Any input?

your not going to get much quicker spool-up unless u have a big turbo.I'd start at 35 hp and go up from there.Every car reacts just a little different to N2O,depending upon your setup.and I'd run it up close to your shift point-right before u shift.don't hit your rev limiter while spraying,bad things can happen.

I used a 50 shot to spool my pte 60 trim. It came on at 3500 and went off at 7000. From a launch it would spool the turbo instantly, and I would spin all four tires, and I have limited slips in the front and rear. But it really depends on what turbo you are running. If you have something that spools up before 4k then it would be kind of pointless to spray for spoolup purposes.

Does running a shot really help spool that much?? i had an argument with a friend of mine i didnt know you could spool a turbo up with nitrous or why you would want to. where do you spray it and how much does it do??

Yes it does help substantially. It is more popular on automatic cars, when they lack the torque to get up on the converter quick enough. A small shot of nitrous will put them up on the converter almost instantly and get them into boost.

One option is to add a hobbs switch to the system. Using that + link will allow you to activate nitrous @ said RPM, load, etc. & shut it down @ your desired boost level, via the hobbs switch.....OR vice-versa depending whether the switch is NO or NC.

As everyone has mainly said YES it does... TOnight i was logging test pulls for just this reason alone ( i went larger on my turbine recently with the same lazy compressor wheel) And it's really really nice... especially if you have the means to control it where it will turn back off when you're atthe boost level you desire ( makes the bottle last a lot longer only using a second at a time)

The way my car spools from a bog in 3rd it takes untill about 4800 RPM with the .63 AR hot side (stage III t3 wheel) but i've got the n20 set to come on at 3700 under WOT (via haltech EMS) and then turn off agin at 25psi and my big laggy t3/t4 57 ntrim spools like a b16g when the parameters are met to kick the laughing gas on

jrohner... The best thing i've found it top help with is letting you be nice to your tranny while getting back on boost immediately when you're on a big turbo 5 speed)

Guess I'll shoot my specs too... The n20 is a wet 40 shot on an e85 car, minimum on RPM is 3700.. off RPM is 9k,, Must be above 92% TPS and then it is set to turn back off when the boost level is between 25 and 28 ( still deciding where to keep it ) The 40 shot made 70 more horses on the dyno from taking out heat i would imagine, and i'm pulling 5 and 7* timing when it's engaged ( another thing i can't make my mind up on )
